Professor, Central Michigan University
Dr. Eugene Y. ROH is a tenured/full professor of the Department of Marketing and Hospitality, College of Business,
at Central Michigan University. He was born in South Korea and later became a naturalized U.S citizen. He holds a Ph.D.
from the Pennsylvania State University (1996).
Dr. Roh has taught courses in hospitality operations and management. In addition to teaching activities,
Dr. Roh is an avid researcher in the area of hospitality management, franchising and cross-border tourism.
Throughout his academic career, he has published four books, book chapters and more than forty scholarly papers
in academic journals and international conference proceedings.
His articles appear in many prestigious journals such as International journal of Hospitality Management,
Leisure Sciences, Contemporary International Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism, Hospitality Research Journal,
The Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, International Journal of Quality Production Management and many others.
Professor Roh is also actively engaged in the hospitality and tourism consulting to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
He presented a variety of papers at the national and international conferences for academicians as well as entrepreneurs.
His selected media interviews include The Voice of America, The Chicago Tribune. Recently, he was involved in ethnic and
cross-border tourism cooperation research projects with Korean National Assembly Research Service
to predict the future of Kung Kang Mountain as a resort destination for South Korea from political and economic perspectives.
