Greetings

I would like to give you a warm welcome to the 13th Seoul International Financial Forum hosted

by the Financial News. First launched in 2000, the forum has been firmly placed as one of Asia’s most

prestigious. I would like to give thanks to all of those who have been very supportive.

This year’s main theme is ‘New Rules of the Game for a Sustainable Financial Market.’ Since the global

financial meltdown of 2008, the world’s financial markets have gone through unprecedented changes and

are focusing on regulations, instead of freedom. So this forum will focus on pursuing the sustainable

financial markets under the new environment.

During the forum, local and international scholars and finance experts will discuss the European budget

crisis, thefuture of investment banks and new opportunities for Korea, China and other Asian countries.

The Seoul International Financial Forum has always brought up timely issues, made predictions and

suggested the direction of policies to the government authorities. We hope this tradition will continue

this year as well.
