Tom Mouhsian

Tom Mouhsian heads up KPMG’s Customer & Growth Advisory practice across the Asian region and specializes in consumer-centric, innovation-driven strategies and turn-key digital transformations. Before KPMG he managed a boutique strategy house in the US/EU. Prior to consulting, Tom spent 8 years as a professional government lobbyist in Washington DC, specializing on foreign market access and international trade. He holds a degree in international economics and speaks five languages.
 
 
Steve Monaghan
Regional Director, Head of Edge AIA Accountable/AIA Group Innovation Agenda

Originally a commercial pilot, Steve has held a number of senior corporate and banking roles in product, marketing, operations and general management. He has worked for a number of leading corporations and financial institutions including Dell, Compaq, Citigroup, OCBC, Shinsei and DBS Bank. Throughout his career, Steve has specialized in introducing new business models, businesses and products in all major markets in Asia and has filed 6 patents.

Steve was on the startup team for Dell Computer, introducing Dell’s consumer business to Asia. Later he developed and executed the branded manufacturing and retail model catapulting Compaq to number one in the Indian consumer market. In banking Steve developed and patented the first mobile payments platform for Citigroup, developed a Consumer Finance Division for OCBC and lead the retail bank turnaround of Shinsei Bank in Japan growing revenues USD$500M, deposits 25% and improving net income by USD$100M during a 9 month transformation. As Chief Innovation Officer for DBS Bank, Steve drove the innovation agenda focused on Intelligence, Big Data and Social culminating in the $220+M investment of DBS in IBM Watson, DBS A*Star R&D Lab and Digital Banking.

Steve is a frequent presenter and lecturer around the world on subjects including Innovation, banking, Working Capital, M&A and Investing in China. He co-authored a five year China IPO study and has been frequently published on topics including Working Capital, Investing in China and Capital Collaboration. Steve holds an EMBA with ‘first in class academic standing’ from the Helsinki School of Economics.
 
 
Lim, Jung Wook
Managing Director/Startup Alliance

Jungwook Lim is the managing director of Startup Alliance Korea, a non-profit organization
founded in 2013 to foster Korean startup ecosystem by connecting entrepreneurs, startups, tech
companies, and the government. Jungwook spent time working in Silicon Valley and Boston
where he was the head of global business for Daum and the CEO of Lycos.
After several years of experience in high tech entrepreneurial environment, he moved to Seoul
and established the Startup Alliance to share his knowledge and experience to help local
startups in global settings. Although his skillset is vast, his greatest expertise is in IT technology
and business perspectives in Silicon Valley and Japan. He also has an extensive social capital
in IT industry in Silicon Valley, Japan and Korea.
Before his career as internet executive, he was a newspaper journalist in Korea. We worked at
Chosun Ilbo, Korea’s largest newspaper for almost 10 years. While there, he covered Korea’s IT
industry as a business writer. He also worked as director of Chosun.com, an online newspaper
arm of Chosun Ilbo, managed online newsroom. He also established and became the CEO of
the Chosun Ilbo JNS which operated Japanese online edition of the newspaper.
He is also well known blogger and influential Twitterer in Korea who has over 11k Twitter
followers. He co-authored the book, 'iPad revolution'(2010) and translated 'Inside
Apple'(2012) into Korean version. His columns frequently appear in various newspapers and
magazines in Korea.
Jungwook holds an MBA degree from the Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of
California, Berkeley, and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the Hankuk University
of Foreign Studies.

Noritaka Akamatsu
Senior Advisor, Regional & Sustainable Development/Asian Development Bank

Mr. Akamatsu is Senior Advisor of Regional & Sustainable Development Department of Asian Development Bank (ADB). Previously, he was Deputy Head of the Office of Regional Economic Integration (OREI) and Chair of ADB’s Financial Sector Community of Practice. He leads works to support financial cooperation and integration initiatives of ASEAN and ASEAN+3. He serves as Co-chair of the Steering Committee for Capacity Building under the ASEAN Central Bank Forum. Prior to joining ADB, he was a staff member of the World Bank. From 09/2005 to 03/2009, he was the Bank’s Finance & Private Sector Program Manager for Vietnam and Capital Market Advisor for East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Region. At the headquarters in Washington, he was Lead Financial Economist and led Capital Markets Group of the Bank’s Financial Sector Network anchor. He was a member of the Bank’s crisis management team at the time of Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 and has participated in the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) of the Bank–IMF for various countries. He worked extensively on Central and Eastern Europe as well as Asia and has worked also Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked for Nomura Research Institute in Tokyo and London. Kang, Seong Ju

Mr. Kang is currently serving as the Director-General of the IT Strategy Bureau at the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning(MSIP) in Korea. His work includes the promotion of IT use in the public and private sector, such as fintech, telemedicine and smart learning, in addition to, big data and IoT, including broadband network policy.

Since 1987, DG Kang has been making efforts to promote the use of IT technology for innovation; until the early 1990s, his work focused on country-level digitalization projects that raised efficiency and transparency of government administration such as vehicle and real estate management.

In 1994, DG Kang was joined the taskforce team responsible for developing broadband network to the world’s best by dramatically improving the internet environment through implementation of the “Information Superhighway”.

In 2004, his work continued to promote IT technology by establishing national strategy to help both the public and private sector make full use of ubiquitous technology, including u-health and u-learning.

He has confidence that government operation and private sector productivity as well as personal creativity can all be improved by innovation based on IT technology; to achieve this goal, he is dedicating himself to change the business environment and learning system to support and be more favorable to entrepreneurship.

Mr. Kang studied at Syracuse University and Pennsylvania State University in US, he has also worked at the OECD as part of the permanentmission of Republic of Korea and published a number of papers and treatises on innovation utilizing IT technology.
 
 
Frederic Samama
Deputy Global Head of Institutional and Sovereign Clients/Amundi

Frederic Samama, Deputy Global Head of Institutional and Sovereign Clients, joined Amundi in 2009. He is as well founder of the SWF Research Initiative. Formerly, he oversaw Corporate Equity Derivatives within Credit Agricole Corporate Investment Banking in New York and Paris. During his tenure, he developed and implemented the first international leveraged employee share purchase program, a technology now used widely among French companies. He has advised the French Government on different areas (employee investing mechanisms, market regulation, etc.) and has a long track record of innovation at the crossroads of finance and government policy.
 
 
Park, Kyung Suh

Professor Kyung Suh Park is currently with the Korea University Business School as a professor of finance. He had his MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, and aPh.D. degree in finance from the Kellogg Business School, Northwestern University. Before he joined Korea University, he worked for the Korea Institute of Finance.
His research interests cover the subjects in corporate governance and finance, financial institutions, and investments, and he has published academic papers in manytop journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Financial Markets, and the Journal of Banking and Finance among others. 
Professor Park has also actively participated in policy making process of the Korean Governmentin the area of financial markets and industries, and is currently in charge of the Korea Corporate Governance Services as its president.
