Professor, Peking University
Jiehua Lu, Ph. D, professor of department of sociology, Peking Uuniversity, and also deputy director of Center for Healthy Aging and Development Studies, Peking University. His research areas include gerontology, economics of population, and interaction between population and environment. Dr. Lu got his BA in economics, MA in sociology, and Ph.D in demography from Liaoning University, University of Southern California, and Peking University respectively. From 1984 to 1994, he was a faculty member of Institute of Population Research, Liaoning University. From 1997 to 2006, he was a faculty member of Population Research Institute of Peking University. Since 2007, Dr. Lu has been working at department of sociology of Peking University. Dr. Lu has been the principal investigator for more than ten key projects and published more than 70 academic papers, including “Desired living arrangements of elderly: case of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Chongping”, “Rapid population aeging in Mainland China: Challengens and Solutions”, “Determints affecting longevity at county level in China”, etc.
