Hello, Everyone. Welcome to the 7th Global Insurance Symposium.

 

First of all, I would like to appreciate Mr. Choi Soo-Hyun, Governor of Financial Supervisory Servicewho

has come to grace our symposium. Also, I would like to greet Mr. Khang Ho, President of Korea Insurance

Research Institute, Mr. Kim Gyu Bok, Chairman & CEO of Korea Life Insurance Association, Mr. Chang

Nam Sik, Chairman of General Insurance Association and all of the CEOs and specialists who came from

in and out of Korea.

 

In this year’s symposium, The Financial News and Korea Insurance Research Institute has prepared a

place to discuss the establishment of sound medical expense guarantee system and cooperation plan

of public & private health insurance to preventthe increase of medical expense.

 

Recently, the gap between life expectancy and healthy life is increasing due to the increase of aging and

chronic diseases. So the role of public & private health insuranceis getting important than any other time.

In other words, as the private health insurance has become pan-national insurance, necessity of strengthen

cooperation between public & private health insurance is growing.

 

Therefore this symposium, which insurance industry related and international insurance specialists are

participating, will be very important stage to face the environment of health insurance and to assess the

future way of its industry.

 

Also we can understand the increasing trend of domestic medical expense and diagnose the managing

policy multi-facetedly. We expect international systems and products, connecting public & private health

insurance introduced by foreign lecturers, will give us lots of implications in our aging society.

 

I hope this symposium will be the opportunity to find the mutual development way of public &private health

insurance.
