Jerome Matrundola
Head, Strategic Initiatives/Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, RGA Reinsurance Company

Jerome Matrundola is Head of Strategic Initiatives, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, for RGA Reinsurance Company. In this role, Jerome is responsible for increasing the breadth of RGA offerings and capabilities within Asia. He is based in RGA’s Hong Kong Branch. Most recently, Jerome was Director, Business Development, working in RGA’s Autralia office for 16 months. During that time he led the effort to increase RGA’s ability to offer and support direct-to-consumer products and assisted in bringing inovative product solutions to clients in the Australian market.

Prior to joining the RGA Australia Business Development team, Jerome worked in RGA International’s Toronto office, where he served as Director, Product Development. In that role, he was responsible for the global management of RGA’s Product Development business initiative. He began his career at RGA as a Pricing Actuary, supporting clients in Italy, Central and Eastern Europe, the Netherlands and the Middle East.

Before coming to RGA, Jerome worked for Swiss Re Life and Health Canada, Maritime Life, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

Jerome’s actuarial experience covers a broad range of disciplines in both direct insurance and reinsurance, including pricing group reinsurance, embedded value and financial reporting, performance and risk management of asset portfolios and risk assessment models. In addition to this, he has been working very closely with each of RGA International’s heads of sales over the last three years, so he brings a varied set of skills to the team.

Jerome received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).
 
 
Ahn, Jeong Hoon 
Director, Office of Research Planning/National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency

Dr. Ahn, Jeong hoon is a research fellow and executive director at the National Evidence-based healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA), Seoul, Korea. His main research area in NECA is economic evaluation of health technologies. Before joining NECA in April 2009, Dr. Ahn was an assistant professor of pharmaceutical economics and Policy at the University of Southern California (USC). He received his B.A. in International Economics (1992) and M.A. in Economics (1994, with an emphasis on Econometrics) from the Seoul National University, Korea, and Ph.D. in Economics (2000, with an emphasis on Health Econometrics) from the University of Southern California. From 2000 to 2002, Dr. Ahn was the DIA postdoctoral fellow in the pharmaceutical health services research program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
He has authored or co-authored articles appearing in American Heart Journal, Cancer, International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care, Journal of Affective Disorder, Medical Care, Pharmacoeconomics, Value in Health and many others.
Dr. Ahn contributed to form a regional Health Technology Assessment agency network called the HTAsiaLink (www.htasialink.org) along with HITAP (Thailand) and CDE (Taiwan). In the 2013 HTAi Annual conference in Seoul, he supported the activities of the International Scientific Program Committee as the chair of the Regional Advisory Board. After the conference, Dr. Ahn received a commendation from the Korean Minister of Health and Welfare for his service. Dr. Ahn is currently serving on the board of Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) as a director. He is also a board director of International Network of Agencies for HTA (INAHTA), the secretary of HTAsiaLink, the secretary of Korean Association of Health Technology Assessment (KAHTA), and the secretary of Korean Association of Health Economics and Policy (KAHEP)

Oh, Young Soo 
Senior Advisor/Kim & Chang

Dr. Oh, Young Soo is a Senior Advisor at Kim & Chang. He joined Kim & Chang in 2011 after 16 years of research with the Korea Insurance Research Institute (KIRI) and Korea Insurance Development Institute (KIDI). The main focus of Dr. Oh’s research has been on insurance, pension and the aging society. Dr. Oh has also served a member of the Advisory Council for Financial Development, organized by Ministry of Finance and Economy (predecessor to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance). In addition, he has participated in academic societies, such as Korea Insurance Academic Society, Korea Social Security Association, as a director. He advises on the area of insurance and pension at Kim & Chang.
