Financial News is hosting Seoul International Food Forum to support the development 

of the Korean food industry and the globalization of K-Food.

The main theme of the Seoul International Food Forum, which celebrates its 7th year, is 

“Future Foods Change My Life”. Amidst increasing single-person households 

and aging population, the food industry is pouring out new products aiming at the changes 

in the social fabric.

Especially HMRs (home meal replacements) are emerging as the main trend of the future food 

market, and care food such as soft food targeting the silver generation has formed a new category.

In addition, domestic food makers, one after another, are contending in the pet food market, 

estimated to be worth almost 1 trillion won, and have begun the counterattack of ‘Korean pet food.’

Therefore, the Seoul International Food forum will provide an overview 

on the trends with a sneak peak at what will be on the dinner table of Korea and the responses 

from domestic and overseas food makers, and a venue for a special session to address 

the pet food market
