Ben was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Group Asia in May 2014.
Macquarie Group is an Australian listed global financial services provider, with more than 70 office locations in 28 countries
and $A504 billion in assets under management. In Asia, Macquarie has more than 3,500 people across 14 offices in 11 markets.
Since joining Macquarie in 2006, Ben, who also co-heads Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) in Asia, has led
the establishment of infrastructure and private equity funds across the region. In the last five years these funds have made
investments in diverse sectors including water, renewables, utilities, transport and communications.
Ben has been based in Asia for 15 years. He was previously the CEO of Taiwan Broadband Communications, where he continues
to serve as Chairman and a management consultant with Bain & Company.
A director of several non-profit and professional organizations, Ben is Vice Chair of the Hong Kong-ASEAN Economic
Cooperation Foundation, a member of the Australia-Guangdong Business Council and Chairman’s Council of the Australia-China
Relations Institute. He is a board member of HAGAR International and the Macquarie Group Foundation. Ben is a signatory to the
30% Club and #HeForShe.
